Football

Community Youth Football and Cheer builds strong fundamentals, a competitive spirit, and a team-first mindset that lasts long after the season ends. ALL CYFC athletes compete in the United Legacy Football & Cheer league, which serves 6 towns (Community, Farmersville, Lone Oak, Wylie, Commerce and Royse City) in Flag and Tackle football. Please note the following information for the 2026 season.

Football Eligibility

  • Athletes must be at least 5 years old by September 1, 2026.
  • Must be enrolled in a Community ISD school, kindergarten through 6th grade or live within the school district boundaries.
  • Out-of-district players will not be allowed to participate in CYFC.
  • Teams within the league are divided according to grade levels and or age level (outlined below).
  • All athletes will be required to participate in the assigned division according to grade/age, unless otherwise approved by the board.

Season

The season will run from August through November with regular season play, playoffs, and the Super Bowl. Games will take place on Saturdays, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Practices

Practices will begin early July, and each team will practice 3 nights a week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Individual coaches and field availability will determine practice times. All practices will be held at Community ISD facilities.

Registration Fees and Equipment

Parents have the option to pay for registrations in full upon registering their athlete or participate in a payment plan (50% down, 2 additional payments, once a month). Fees this season are as follows:

Flag Football: $200 per athlete

  • Includes: Home and away uniform (jersey, shorts and socks), customer soft shell helmet, and mouthguard.
  • Athletes will need to provide football cleats and a water jug.

Tackle Football: $300 per athlete

  • Includes Home and away uniform (jersey, padded pants and socks), helmet and shoulder pads.
  • Helmet and shoulder pads are assigned to the athlete to use during the season. Upon completion of the season, helmets and shoulder pads must be returned, or a $150 fee will be added to the athlete's account and the athlete will not be able to participate in the following season until paid.
  • Equipment is issued prior to the start of the first official practice of the season.
  • Athletes will need to provide football cleats, mouth guard, practice jersey, practice pants, and water jug.

Refunds

Due to ordering and customization processes, refunds will not be issued once uniform fittings have been completed.

Uniforms

Issued uniforms are required to be worn at all games and are NOT allowed to be worn during practices. It is the responsibility of the athlete and parents to keep up with all issued uniform pieces. CYFC does not carry additional equipment for replacements, and any lost items can be purchased for an additional fee upon availability.

Uniform Fittings (date TBD)

Athletes are required to attend a pre-season uniform fitting meeting to try on appropriate sizes. Parents will confirm the sizes to order for your athlete at the meeting. Once uniforms are ordered according to parent-approved sizing, replacement pieces must be paid in full.

Weigh-Ins (date TBD)

All tackle football athletes are required to attend and weigh in at the official United Legacy weigh-ins. Athletes are weighed once a year to determine eligibility in running the ball and field placement. Check with your coach on your official weight limits.

Have a question or concern?

Community Youth Football and Cheer is proudly run 100% by volunteers—from our board members to our dedicated coaches—who generously give their time and energy to support the success and growth of every athlete in our program. Their commitment helps create a positive and supportive environment for all participants. If you ever have a question or concern, we ask that you first reach out to your head coach, who is closest to your athlete’s experience. If further assistance is needed, the CYFC Board is always available to help.
